Hamza Aboubaigi collaborates with Global Diversity Foundation in his role as Environmental and Community Outreach Coordinator at Jnane Tamsna Boutique Hotel and Organic Gardens. He earned his Master’s degree in Aquatic Ecosystems Management in 2018, and his Bachelor’s of Science and Technology in Plant Biotechnology in 2016, both from Cadi-Ayyad University in Marrakesh, Morocco.
He sources local products for EthnoBotanica, a social enterprise hosted by Jnane Tamsna, ensuring benefits for rural and urban communities in Marrakech and its hinterland. Hamza is the liaison between GDF, Ethnobotanica and Jnane Tamsna and assures their links to High Atlas communities and a broader public of producers, vendors and consumers of local products. Drawing on his experience in academic and nonprofit projects on water management and engineering, he also participates in GDF’s initiative on High Altas Cultural Landscapes.
Resident in Marrakech, Hamza is a native speaker of Darija (Moroccan Arabic) and is fluent in Arabic, French and English.
