Ahmed Bendella is a jurist and political scientist. He is currently finalizing his thesis on collective lands at Hassan II University in Casablanca. Ahmed has participated in sociological surveys within the framework of the Moroccan Center for Social Sciences (CM2S), as well as in consultations and development projects with the Interdisciplinary Association for Development and the Environment (Targa-AIDE). He participates in teaching and research activities in the legal and social sciences and has published texts on the question of customary law in Morocco in relation to collective lands.
As Policy and Governance Research Lead for the Global Diversity Foundation, Ahmed is tasked primarily with carrying out research on Moroccan law and policy in relation to land governance to help deliver GDF’s strategy to strengthen communal governance of High Atlas cultural landscapes.
