Calling for photos and recipes of traditional Moroccan cuisine

Appel à photos et recettes de la cuisine marocaine traditionnelle

We’re excited to invite you to participate in our #MedFoodHeroes Instagram contest as part of the Mediterranean Rooted Everyday campaign.

The aim of this Instagram contest is to highlight delicious recipes that use the abundance of local products traditionally used in the Mediterranean, including Morocco. We are looking for local recipes that celebrate Moroccan traditions and products such as couscous, almonds, and any other ingredients used in Moroccan cuisine.

The contest is open from May 23 until June 21, 2020. Participation in the contest is simple and anyone with an Instagram account can participate by following the steps below:

We will notify the winner and runner up with a personal message on their Instagram account on the 24th of June. They will also be announced on Global Diversity Foundation’s website and social media.

The winner gets brand new kitchen supplies and a basket full of delicious Moroccan fair trade products selected by EthnoBotanica. The runner up will receive a gift box with delicious local Moroccan products.

The winner and runner up should be residents of Morocco in order for us to assure the prize delivery. However, everyone can participate in the #MedFoodHeroes campaign by sharing your favourite food with the hashtag #MedFoodHeroes. You can also participate in our #ShareADish night by preparing a meal for friends, family or colleagues and inviting us to join the party by posting your recipes and food photos between June 25 and 27, 2020.

About #MedFoodHeroes

Rooted Everyday just launched their 2020 #MedFoodHeroes campaign, celebrating sustainable food, traditional recipes and local products from the Mediterranean. Mediterranean Food Heroes are people who produce, shop and cook sustainably from across the Mediterranean. The #MedFoodHeroes campaign is an opportunity to talk about Mediterranean culture and biodiversity while showcasing the quality ingredients the region has to offer. We want to show the rest of the world how the food we choose to put on our plates impacts both the environment and the sustainable economy.
